Introduction
The Houston Technology Group (HTG) was founded in 1986 by
chartered accountant and management graduate Alan Chew and
today employs 20+ professional staff in the Waikato and BOP.
Previously known as Houston Computers International, HTG
was originally a member of the Houston Computers Group of
technology companies based in Singapore, Frankfurt and
California, HTG is now an independent company owned and
managed by local owners.
HTG’s core business is the design, supply and support of IT
solutions for business clients throughout New Zealand.
The company is a strategic partner with a number of world
leading IT Solution providers including HP/Compaq, VMWare
and Microsoft. We are a registered HP/Compaq Business
Partner, a VMWare Professional Partner and Microsoft GOLD
Certified Partner. We are also qualified for Citrix and
Cisco installations and support. HTG is also the accredited
partner for Medtech, New Zealand’s largest selling medical
software. |
HTG has service centres based in Hamilton, Te Awamutu and
Tauranga. Additionally we have a nationwide network of over
20 affiliated service centres to look after clients located
outside of these three centres.

workforce with significant IT and business knowledge. The
majority of our staff have university or technical
qualifications plus extensive experience in a wide range of
specialties. Many are leaders in their field. A number of
staff had obtained their training and experience overseas
including the UK, Europe, the US and Canada. Our people are
loyal and many are longstanding employees, very unusual in a
traditionally fluid industry like ours.

HTG is first and foremost an IT Professional Services
provider. As networking specialists, the staff at HTG are
trained to advise on, deliver, and support network
solutions. Our in-house Service Centres and technology
partners allow us to be a ‘total solutions provider’ for
networking solutions that cater for all aspects of network
design, cabling, hardware, software, installation, and
support.
We have the capability to install and support local and
wide-area networks running Microsoft operating systems, VMWare and
Citrix. HTG has Cisco engineers and we also support the
world-leading Zultys range of VoIP products.
We also offer ongoing support and maintenance contracts
for our customers. We have the staff and infrastructure to
offer very fast response to client call outs including
after-hours support. HTG also offers a full range of
outsourcing services.
The recent widespread availability of low-cost broadband
Internet access has allowed us to support many of our
clients remotely. As a result of this, HTG is able to
cost-effectively support virtually any client anywhere.
Clients needing onsite servicing are serviced either by
one of our service Centres in Hamilton or Tauranga or by one
of our nationwide network of affiliated service centres
outside of these centres. |
